Overview

Inspectors are FAA certified AMTs and report to the Manager-Quality Control and/or Lead Inspector. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of aircraft during scheduled maintenance operations to detect discrepancies.
  • Create defects and generate NRTCs as necessary for the correction of each item found during scheduled maintenance inspections on aircraft.
  • Review aircraft deferred log during scheduled maintenance operations and create NRTCs as necessary for corrective action.
  • Inspect and sign for proper accomplishment of items required by the maintenance program.
  • inspect and sign for proper accomplishments of RIIs.  For RIIs, the Inspector must have written Company authorization (SP 612).
  • Before an aircraft is released for service, review maintenance documents for proper completion of work, routine TCs and NRTCs for completion, sign-offs, and inspection for proper execution of maintenance release IAW Company maintenance program requirements.
  • When assigned, perform receiving inspection function on parts and materials received from outside agencies and attach a properly completed Company Serviceable ID Tag to such parts.
  • Conduct OJT as required and ensure OJT records signed and completed correctly.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Lead Inspector or Manager-Quality Control.

Qualifications

  • High school Graduate or GED.
  • Airframe & PowerPlant License.
  • Two years’ experience as an A&P Mechanic.
  • Two years’ experience on Company-type aircraft.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts and days off as well as limited notice field trips.
  • Experience with Microsoft word, excel and access a plus. 
  • Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs and work stands unassisted.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl and stoop frequently in confined spaces.

Preferred

  • Graduate of an FAA-approved Aviation Technical School.
