  • Overview

    The Recruiter – Flight Ops position reports to the Manager – Flight Operations Hiring & Recruitment. Flight Operations Recruiters are responsible for assisting with Flight Operations recruitment activities and interviewing candidates. Their role ensures that ExpressJet successfully attracts, selects, and on-boards high performing pilots. This position is open to current ExpressJet employees in good standing that are NOT current and qualified ExpressJet pilots.


    • Achieving recruiting targets through actively recruiting and hiring pilots with an aptitude for building successful business relationships, planning and project management
    • Screen resumes and applications for qualified pilot applicants
    • Contact applicants and schedule First Officer interviews
    • Conduct pilot interviews and testing in ATL, IAH, or other locations as necessary
    • Represent ExpressJet at recruitment events, colleges, universities and career fairs
    • Initiate and foster relationships with Universities/Colleges and flight academies
    • Acting as a liaison for the AP3 (Airline Pilot Pathway Program), EPIC (ExpressJet Pilots Inspiring Careers) Ambassadors, and partnering carriers' pathway programs
    • Maintain data tracking tools on all recruitment efforts
    • Assist with the development of pilot recruitment media and materials
    • Contributions and recommendations to the Manager – Flight Operations Hiring & Recruitment for improving recruitment and hiring strategy and processes
    • Presentations to large groups
    • Facilitating relationships between the company and future pilots
    • Ensure compliance with all state/federal employment laws, EEOC guidelines, and Company policies
    • Other duties as assigned


    • 2-3 years’ experience working in the aviation industry.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Strong communication and public speaking skills
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong written communication skills
    • Must be able to travel frequently with many overnight trips, including possibly traveling on weekends
    • Ability to work and travel alone and improvise on the road
    • Must be flexible with schedule


    • 1-2 years’ experience in pilot recruitment, hiring, and marketing
    • Strong computer skills including MS Office products, applicant tracking systems, and other recruiting software and tools
    • Familiarity with graphic and media design and social media advertising principles
